Pocahontas Healthcare Foundation Scholarship Winners Announced!
The Pocahontas Healthcare Foundation recently awarded ten area high school seniors scholarships for $500 each. Applications were distributed to the Pocahontas County area high schools in January with a deadline of April 15th for any senior who was pursuing a career in the health care field. Of the ten scholarships there were seven recipients from PAC, two from Newell-Fonda and one from Laurens-Marathon. The PAC recipients of the Foundation scholarships this year were: Emma Anderson, Megan Klaassen, Brooklyn Weidauer, Sydnie Benna, Madeline Vosika, Grace Meyer and Katrina Sauter. Morgan Roberts and Kate Christiansen were the recipients from Newell-Fonda High School. Noah Anderson was the Laurens-Marathon recipient. These scholarships were made possible through generous donations received from the Gary & Kathy Burns Family, James & Julie Roetman, Hughes Pharmacy, Dr. Darwin & Becky Schossow, Erin & Kerry Peterson, Susie & Brent Aden, Rick & Kendra Winegarden, two from the Pocahontas Community Hospital and one from an anonymous donor. The Healthcare Foundation Board would like to congratulate all of these graduating seniors and wish them the best in their future endeavors.
