Mooney Appointed to Iowa Board of Nursing
Recently, PCH's very own, Patrick Mooney was one of three Iowans appointed by Gov. Terry Branstad to the Iowa Board of Nursing. Patrick is the Pocahontas County EMS Coordinator. The board regulates the state’s 60,000 nurses, oversees formal hearings and complaints, and approves nursing programs throughout the state. Patrick will be on the board for two years. He will be the board’s non-nursing representative - a responsibility aimed at bringing a citizen’s perspective to the board. He has 20 years experience in health care and emergency medicine. Patrick is honored to be selected as part of the board.
“It’s a great honor for Patrick to be selected,” remarked PCH CEO James Roetman. “As far as I know, we have never had someone on the Board of Nursing represent our facility, our community, and our county.”
Roetman continued, “There are many decisions that are made with urban communities in mind. It’s great to have someone from Northwest Iowa on the board to let them know the challenges and needs of nursing in rural Iowa.”
